This was our very first social marketing campaign designed by parents in Danvers and by a local advisory committee. It ran in April-June 2010 and had great reach into the community.
The focus is on getting parents to talk to their teens and to raise awareness that teens to access alcohol, often in their own homes. Parents say “It’s not my kid…” But if it isn’t, then whose kid is it? Parent need to start a dialogue with their teens about drinking. Our website has plenty of tips on how to begin. Research shows that parents have the most influence over their children’s choice to drink or not to drink.
Be aware that teens get alcohol at home. Start the dialogue today. It makes a difference.
